Keith Reilly 1938-2012
On behalf of all members, past and present, of Suburban Schoolmasters' Curling Club, we are saddened by the passing of Keith Reilly.
Bob Dobson has written the following about Keith.
His connection with the SSCC is deep.
His uncle was one of the founders of SSCC in 1958. Keith was a shop teacher at Pierre LaPorte Middle School. Many members of SSCC were teachers and administrators there and some are still close friends. Keith spared many times in the past with the our club. Most likely at Lead.
Here a few tributes about Keith.

World Curling Federation World Rankings - Guidelines
The WCF World Rankings track and list the success of all 49 Member Associations of the World Curling Federation at the Pacific-Asia Championships, the European Championships, the Men's and Women's World Championships and the Olympic Winter Games.
Points are assigned for top-level placements at each competition. Points are only assigned once per season to member associations qualifying out of their regional championships for the world championships. Lower point values are assigned on a percentage scaled basis for placement at events dating back as far as six curling seasons.
The WCF World Rankings were developed by 1998 Olympic Champion Patrick Hürlimann of Switzerland, Vice President of the Federation from 2010 to 2012.
"The WCF World Rankings are a key step in the continued growth of curling as a global sport," explains Hürlimann. "New Member Associations will be added as grass roots interest is exploding on every continent, and the World Curling Rankings reflect the desire of every one of them to become the best in the World.”
“We gauge performance over 6 seasons: 5 years back the points only count for 20%, 4 years back 30%, 3 years back 40%, 2 years back 60%, 1 year back 80% and actual season 100%. With this we have some more movement in the ranking if countries perform well, for example, over the last two seasons.”
“At the World Curling Championship, you get the following points: 1st: 240 / 2nd: 200 / 3rd 180 until 12th: 50 points. Finishes at the Olympic Winter Games count for double points: 1st: 480 etc.”
“After the PACC and ECC, all teams qualifying for the World Curling Championships (Men/Women), get 50 points. All the other teams participating at the PACC and ECC get less than 50 points, calculated down to 1 point. This system has been developed in order to be fair to all nations, as for example, Canada does not participate in either the PACC or ECC.”
