Murdoch Takes Gold over Gushue in Russia

David Murdoch of Scotland defeated Brad Gushue of Canada 6 - 3 in the first ever World Curling Tour Europe event in Russia. The other skips who took part were Thomas Ulsrud, Andreas 'Andy' Kapp, Pål Trulsen. There were also three skips from Russia: Andrey Drozdov, Igor Minin and Valentin Demenkov.

2008-09 Captial One® Grand Slam of Curling Announced

The dates and locations of the Capital One® Grand Slam of Curling have been set:

Men's Events:
The first event is The Masters of Curling which takes place November 12-16 at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex in Waterloo, Ont.

The second event is The National which takes place from December 3-7 at the ExpoCité in Quebec City.

The third event is the BDO Classic Canadian Open which takes place from January 21-25, 2009 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.

Women’s Events:
The first event is the Trail Appliances Autumn Gold Curling Classic which takes place from October 10-13 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary.

The second event is the Casinos of Winnipeg which takes place from October 24-27 at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg.

The third event is the Wayden Transportation Ladies Classic, will takes place November 14-17at the Abbotsford Curling Club in Abbotsford.

The fourth event is the Sobeys Slam which takes place November 27-30 at John Brother MacDonald Stadium in New Glasgow.

The Capital One Grand Slam of Curling series ends with the Players’ Championship which takes place April 14-19 at the Canada Games Arena in Grande Prairie.

The teams for the 2009 Casino Rama® Skins Game that takes place January 10 - 11th at Casino Rama have been announced. They are:

The reining World Champions: Kevin Martin and Jennifer Jones. Along with Former World Champions: Glenn Howard and Randy Ferbey.
